Missed a milestone birthday? Celebrate it anyway!

Have you missed a milestone birthday celebration? COVID-19 and the various lockdowns we’ve all had to endure really put a dampener on celebrating special occasions. Whether it was your son or daughter’s 18th or 21st or your own 30th, 40th or 50th was a total non-event, many of us had to put milestone birthday plans on hold.

It’s never too late to celebrate!

So what if you turned 40 last year? Why should your eldest miss out on celebrating their 18th or 21st birthday with all their friends? How big a surprise will it be if you throw a party for your spouse months after their milestone birthday?

Having a special event to look forward to is guaranteed to give a real lift in mood – for you and everyone you’ve invited. Your guests are going to be excited for a post COVID-19 party, but timing is everything. There are a few important things to consider before setting the date…

Why not plan ahead!

From our own experience, we know that availability before September 2021 will be rare and new enquiries are coming in every day. But sunny days and balmy evenings alone do not make a fantastic party experience – though if you’re set on a summer party then it might well be more sensible to start planning now for summer 2022.

Or why not consider planning your party later in the year? There are some great autumn and winter themes, around which you can create an amazing party, and it could just make yours even more special and totally unique. The time of year almost doesn’t matter right now, what does matter is having a date in the diary and knowing that all your favourite friends and loved ones will be able to get together to have a great time.

2021 is already a busy year for events

Thankfully, as life starts to slowly return to some semblance of normality, parties and events are beginning to happen again. But here’s the thing – 2021 is pretty much log-jammed!  Not only are people planning to celebrate milestone events coming up on the horizon, there is a backlog of events that had to be postponed in 2020. Event planners, venues, entertainers, everyone involved in the event industry are booked to capacity – great news for us and those who have secured their dates, not so great if you haven’t yet managed to get anything booked.

Are your guests ready for a big celebration yet?

Not everyone feels ready or confident to hold, or attend,  social gatherings while there is still some uncertainty around what the future holds in terms of COVID-19. The vaccination programme is going great guns and more and more of the population are fully vaccinated. But whilst there are outbreaks of different strains of the virus, prompting rumblings that the government’s roadmap out of lockdown may yet hit a bump, we are not yet out of the woods – it’s totally understandable that not everyone is totally ready to party their way out of lockdown.

Get a date for your milestone birthday party in the diary as soon as possible

So don’t miss out on the opportunity to celebrate a milestone birthday. Blow the cobwebs off the calendar, choose some dates and get something booked as soon as possible. With demand as high as we know it is, the earlier you can start planning the more likely you are to secure your preferred suppliers and ensure your party is the very best it can possibly be.

And if you’re looking for inspiration take a look at some of the milestone birthday parties we’ve organised – from summer festival parties to winter wonderland transformations, great parties happen all year round!
