No matter how impressive the venue, how fantastic the food, it’s the entertainment at your company’s Christmas party that everyone will remember. Choosing who or what you hire is therefore a make or break decision – no pressure, then!
You might be considering a pianist to tinkle the ivories during the drinks reception. A close-up magician would certainly keep guests intrigued, amazed and amused. A caricaturist would be a fun way of marking the occasion and provide unique mementos of the event. A selfie booth would undoubtedly be well used throughout the evening and keep social media buzzing. You could obviously go down the route of hiring a DJ to get everyone up on the dance floor. And hiring a live band is guaranteed to get the place rocking.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the above. We’ve created some incredible company Christmas parties using some or all of those very ingredients. But did you know that there are lots of other types of entertainment available? And the moment you pick something that bit different there is every chance that you will elevate your company’s Christmas bash to a totally new level. Here’s a selection of ideas to inspire:
Circus Acts and street performers
These performers give any event a cool vibe. Stilt walkers, jugglers and fire artists are a great choice. They may not be the ‘main event’ as such. We’ve used stilt walkers very successfully to create a fun atmosphere as guests arrive or to herald the next stage of the event. With shows such as Cirque de Soleil consistently entertaining and wowing people the world over, you’re definitely onto a winner with this sort of entertainment.
Living statues
Living statues always create a stir. The way in which guests react to them is priceless and, of course, living statues can be used as part of your overall party theme.
Aerial artists
These acts are guaranteed to provide a wow factor as they perform their incredible gravity-defying stunts.
Fun fair
If your venue has plenty of space – or, if you are holding your company party in your offices and just happen to have a decent-sized car park – you could provide all the fun of the fair with dodgems, a carousel and side stalls for a really great night.
Stand-up comedian
Everybody enjoys a good laugh and a stand-up comedian could be the perfect entertainment for your party.
Cabaret or Burlesque
What about turning your event into a seamless cabaret or burlesque evening. A great idea if you’re looking for a more immersive experience or highly themed event. Your venue could be totally transformed into an exclusive club environment, with a range of performers entertaining throughout the evening.
Fireworks
Make your company Christmas party go with a bang and round off the evening with a spectacular display of fireworks. Obviously, you need the right venue for this, but if yours is within grounds and fireworks are allowed it would provide the perfect finale.
Heliosphere
Talking of outside entertainment, how about hiring a heliosphere! Enthrall your guests as an acrobat performs suspended to a huge helium balloon. It’s awesome, spectacular and magical – click here to see more.
