40TH BIRTHDAY AT THE GROVE WATFORD
After the hiatus of Christmas and new year, an early January birthday party can easily become a bit of an afterthought, but not when we’re involved.
Our client wanted to surprise his wife, who was turning 40, by bringing together friends and family for an epic celebration.
We love working on top secret events and we were delighted to plan how to put the biggest smile on the birthday lady’s face.
The Solution
THE BIRTHDAY PARTY VENUE
Having chosen The Grove, a luxurious country house hotel in Watford, Hertfordshire, as the birthday party venue. As part of our event planning services we transformed one of the country house’s large and spacious rooms into a stunning winter wonderland.
Silver birch trees, snow-covered fir trees and snow drifts brought the outside inside. White furniture, LED cubes and a white starlit dance floor added style and sophistication, wooden barrels, sheepskin rugs, apple crates and logs injected warmth and a rustic contrast, while a cool but vibrant lighting scheme created just the right atmosphere.
THE GUEST EXPERIENCE
As well as our very lucky birthday lady, we aim to take into account the experience of everyone invited to the party. The guests entered via a magical snowy corridor with walls covered in fairy lights, and a personalised gobo projected at the entrance gave the party’s VIP guest a very big clue!
THE ENTERTAINMENT
The guests arrive and with the party underway, our specially sourced DJ, who performed against a sumptuous flower backdrop, set the floor alight with his unique style music.
And roaming catering – canapés, bowl food and miniature desserts – meant that guests didn’t have to take time out from dancing and chatting.
